Party Price

A Messy Spot party is all about fun with a splash of craziness so remember to tell all party guests to wear old clothes and shoes!

All parties include:

  • Floor Chalk  - We provide chunky chalk and kids are free to draw pictures on the floor as big as their imagination!

  • Free-play Painting - The kids paint on our giant white boards and walls. We provide fun drawing tools to inspire creativity and also give the children a demonstration on how to use them! Paper is also available for take home art.

  • Banner Art  - Take home a life-size outline of your child on fabric! Complete with rainbow hand prints of the guests!  This is a big group activity that focuses attention on the birthday child and is a lovely keepsake.

  • A Craft Activity of your choice - Pick from the list of craft projects below then let us know!  We provide everything needed for the activity. The decorated items are a lasting reminder of the party and a beautiful gift for each child to take home!

  • A game of Musical Status or Limbo - A great end to a colourful and creative party!

  • Paint & Craft Clean Up! - Forget the mess, that's our job!

The Messy Spot provides a dazzling selection of vibrant coloured paint, glitter and sequins to decorate the craft items above. For bigger bling add rhinestones ($1.50 per child).

Please advise your craft choice no less than 14 working days prior to your party. If you forget - no worries! The default crafts are salt dough OR Full Face masks for all parties.

Salt Dough - The kids have a great time sculpting our pre-made salt dough using cutters, rollers, dough, shapes, hammers etc. Additional craft pieces are also supplied to spark imagination.

Round Wall Clock - each clock comes with a clock mechanism, clock hands and cardboard numbers. The clock face is decorated at the party and can be easily assembled with our simple instructions at home when the item is fully dry. The finished clock is gorgeous!

Sand Art - kids create unique pictures by peeling away stickers and adding colourful sand.

SPECIAL PARTY EXTRAS

Professional Face Painting - Our professional face painters are the best in the business -seriously, they are! The kids just love our spectacular designs! Fairies, flowers, cats, lions, monsters...you name it we do it! This is an additional extra with a WOW!

$90.00 (1 hour for up to 15 children max) or $160.00 (2 hours for 16 to 30 children max)

‘Glowing Up’ .50c per child - All the kids receive a glow bracelet and what a surprise when the lights go out!  The bracelets are handed out during the food break and make for a ‘happy birthday' song the kids won't forget!

Dancing Blinking Lights – just $10.00 - The kids love dancing around with our flashing light sticks. A new spin on the traditional game of musical status! Suitable for ages 5 and up. Available for maximum of 20 kids only.

PARTY FOOD

We are one of few party venues in Sydney that offer BYO catering!  But if you need catering supplied, we can do that too!  To discover more about our catering options go to the Party Catering.

If you bring your own catering please bring garbage bags to take all rubbish home with you (e.g. left-over food, party wares and general packaging). The Messy Spot will take care of all rubbish disposal if we cater your party for you. 

ONE WEEK BEFORE THE PARTY

The Messy Spot will contact you by email one week before the party to finalise numbers and all details.  You can refer to this website as a reminder of what happens on the day. 

Although our party format is set and there is plenty for the kids to do, you are welcome to bring an additional game if you wish (e.g. pass the parcel) but please let us know ahead of time so that we can squeeze it in!  Please no running games.

A set price is charged for every child at the party aged 18 months to 15 years of age. Children from 18 months really love to participate in party activities at The Messy Spot and it is hard to stop them (not that we want to!).  Adults enter for free! 

THE DAY OF THE PARTY

Kids Food - The Messy Spot opens 15 minutes before a party (9.45am or 1.45pm) which gives you time to set up food, drink and accessories on the tables provided. When set up is complete, we provide covers to place over the tables.

Party Tip:  Covering the tables means that children will not be distracted by party food and will get more out of the craft activities. It also means that children are excited to sit and socialise as a group during the break.

Adult Food - we have a dedicated shelf available to place food for adults.

Decorations - We can help you decorate with multi-coloured balloons and streamers ($30). You are welcome to bring your own decorations which can be hung up at arm’s reach.

Party Format - The Messy Spot venue is yours to enjoy for 1 hour and 45 minutes.   The party format is:

  1. Floor Chalk                    (10 minutes)
  2. Free-play Painting          (15 minutes)
  3. Fabric Banner Fun         (15 minutes)
  4. Food & Cake Time         (20 minutes)
  5. Selected Craft Activity    (10 - 30 minutes)
  6. Dancing                        (10 minutes)

The Messy Spot staff coordinate craft activities and manage party time for you.  Total craft time is approximate and depends on the the age of the children, their interest in craft and the group dynamic.

Food service is managed by you. If catering is ordered through The Messy Spot food we will have food set up and ready to go for the food break!

Music – we can provide party music and have a CD player and iPod docking station available if you wish to bring your own party music mix!  (Sorry, not available for iPhones).

Theming - If you are keen on a party theme, we recommend bringing along accessories such as tablecloths, cups, napkins, party favours and cakes. Items inside a ‘pass the parcel' can also be themed.

Additional cost for more than one party child - Regarding the Fabric Banner activity, if you have two birthday children, there is a small additional cost of $25.00 to purchase an additional Fabric Banner for the extra child.
